Getting started & onboarding

When you connect your Meta account, Markettai looks at your Instagram profile and your Facebook Page the way a customer visiting for the first time would. It checks the bio, the link, the name, the profile picture and how many posts you have. On Facebook, the Page description, the website and the cover.

What it finds becomes a list of steps on your profile, in the connections section, ordered from most important to optional. Each step tells you what it saw, what to change and where to change it in the Instagram or Facebook app. If there is something important, it tells you at the end of sign-up and you will see a reminder on the home page until you complete it. If your profile is already good, it just tells you so.

You make the changes. Instagram does not let any app change your bio, your picture or your highlights, so Markettai leaves everything ready for you to copy and upload:

  • For the bio, it suggests several that fit Instagram's 150 characters and say what you do, where, who for and what the customer should do. You copy the one you like. If none convinces you, you can ask for others up to three times.
  • The profile picture, the Facebook cover and the highlight covers are made with your logo and your brand colours. You download them from the list itself, or from your creative library, where they appear with the `profile-kit` tag and the "Download" button.

When you have made a change, press "I have changed it" and Markettai looks at your profile again. Meta can take a few minutes to show the change: if it cannot see it yet, it tells you and checks again in the next review. If a step does not interest you, press "Not interested" and it stops counting.

Story highlights cannot be read from outside, so we ask you: whether you have highlights, what they are about and whether they have their own covers. With your answers we suggest the topics you are missing, each with its cover.

The stories for each highlight. On each suggested topic, "Create stories" opens Magic Post with the topic already set: you only choose the level and, if you want, your photos. Markettai prepares three to five stories; the first introduces the topic and the last asks the customer to do something. You can flip through the pages in the preview to see the stories in order. When you press "Schedule as stories" you pick the day and time, and they are scheduled on Instagram, one per page and in order, a couple of minutes apart (there is no "publish now"). They count towards your plan's limit of scheduled posts, one per story, together with the posts you already have scheduled, BOOST's included: if they do not all fit, none is scheduled and we let you know so you can upgrade your plan. They cost the same as a carousel, once per highlight.

Instagram does not let any app add stories to a highlight, so that step is yours: once they are published, open each story and tap "Highlight", or do it from your stories archive. Then mark the step as done.

The review and the suggestions are free on every plan.

The most common mistake is marking a step as done without changing it in Instagram: it comes back in the next review.
