A lead is an interested contact who has left you their details. This is how one reaches you in Markettai:
- Someone sees your ad or your post and clicks.
- They land on your landing page, which is the page that click leads to, and fill in the form with their details.
- That contact appears straight away on the Clients screen as a new lead, with the ad and the campaign they came from already attached, so you know what is working.
- You book them in from that same screen, into your calendar (see «Setting your availability and blocking time by hand»).
If your landing page includes a date picker, what reaches you is a preference, not a confirmed appointment. The form saves the day and time the person chose along with the rest of their details, but it blocks nothing in your calendar: you are the one who confirms the appointment from Clients, and only then is the slot really taken. Worth keeping in mind so you do not treat as booked something that is not yet. The visitor knows it too: the block talks about "requesting an appointment" and a "preferred time", and on sending it says "Request received", not that the appointment is booked.
The most common mistake when starting out is assuming the calendar fills itself. Check new leads every day: until you confirm the appointment, that hour is still free for anyone else.
