The music in your videos

Your music is in Creatives › Music, and also behind the music button of the editor when you put a video together. There you see two groups: "Your music", with the tracks you've uploaded, and Audius, a catalogue of free songs. Each of your tracks carries a label with its licence.

When you upload a track, you choose the licence you use it under:

  • It's mine: you made it or commissioned it.
  • From a library with a commercial licence: you add the link to that licence's terms.
  • AI-generated: you name the tool you generated it with.
  • I don't have a commercial licence: it's for organic posts only.

For the first three, you confirm you have the right to use that music commercially, ads included. Responsibility for that licence is yours. If you got it wrong, change the track's licence with "Change licence".

Audius songs are fine for organic posts, never for promotion: a video with one of them can't go out as an ad.

What happens if I promote a video whose music has no commercial licence?
The ad isn't created and you see a message naming the track that stops it. The same goes for Magic Ad, a new ad, the express launch and the automatic promotion of a post: that one doesn't happen, the post keeps being published organically and, when you edit it, you see the notice. To fix it, replace the music with licensed music, remove it or, if the track is yours, declare its licence in Creatives › Music.
What about music I uploaded before licences existed?
It shows as "Licence not declared", and the library tells you how many tracks are like that. If the notice shows a date, until that day you can promote the videos that use them; after it, only post them organically, until you declare their licence.
Is the music of a video I upload already edited checked?
No. If you upload a video with the music already in it, Markettai doesn't know what's playing: having the right to use that audio is up to you.
